I remember when we started this adventure called homeschooling. Mike and I had decided then that each year we would decide whether to continue homeschooling or not. Then when we got to high-school it was, if the kids wanted to continue we would till they were graduated. Well........... one is graduated.
I can't believe that Jacob, my oldest, is actually graduated. He actaully finished classes in June of 2014, and then we had a graduation party for him in our backyard of August 2014. It was hard, a bit of bitter sweet. I am so proud of my son for completing his education and moving forward. But there is a part of my heart that pains for those days in the beginning. To be honest I miss those days. ( sniff sniff)
Now Jacob has started is new adventure. He is a freshman at Portland Community College and is finishing is first term. I am so proud of him. He is doing wonderful. Succeeding in all of his classes. And the best part is not the grades or the accomplishments but see how Jacob has matured into a responsible young man.
Don't get me wrong I know God has more to do, and I know there may be more "growing"moments in our house. But for today, this moment, right now I am basking in the joy of seeing Jacob moving from being a boy into becoming a man.
Congratulations Jacob, I love you and am SO proud of you.
