Blah. Have you ever felt like that? Or better yet, when you have sat down to do something like writing a blog post nothing comes to mind but BLAH. Well today that is where my mind is at.
At the beginning of the year I had wanted to make this a fresh start, something different this year. I wanted to make solid changes in my life that reflect not myself but Christ that lives within me. With that said, one of my changes/challenges was to keep up on my blog on a semi-daily basis. Yah, right?!
Since the beginning of the year it has been kind of hit and miss. More miss then hit I will tell you right now. But to get back to the changes/challenges. One of them was to post more, basically write more. I wanted to challenge my brain in a way to share my testimony/story with others. Getting a chance to possible help others by sharing what God is doing in my life both the bad and the good.
There is a writers blog that I follow. He sends emails each day with posting that challenges both your faith walk, and if you are a writer, he also challenges you to expand on your craft. The start of the year he challenged all of his readers to 500 words a day. I thought GREAT! I can do that. What is 500 words, that has got to be easy. Easier said then done.
What I have found is there are a lot more distractions in life, and a lot of ways life tries to get between you and what God wants of you. The dishes needed to be done, a child needed to have a ride to an event, laundry was calling my name, and so many other distracting chores around the house. The conclusion I came to is, if sharing my story is so important to me I need to make the time. I need to sent aside how ever long it takes me to write 500 words a day. And some how God will find the time in the day for me to get the other annoying chores done also.
So what is your challenge for this new year? Is it getting healthy? Or is it just trying to spend more time with the family? What ever that challenge or change may be I would encourage you to really look at it. If this challenge is something God wants to you do then find the time. God will give you the time to do the dishes when you are done.
